Shelter in Bellavista
“Riparo in Bellavista” is the evocative name chosen by the architects Daniele Baiotto and Marco Mancini of the Turin studio Meow Architettura for this extraordinary project of recovery of an old stone and solid brick cottage dating back to 1800.
A new way of living in the countryside
The renovation project stems from the desire of a young couple to move from the city to the splendid hills of Monferrato, transforming the old ruin into a modern residence capable of privileging breathtaking views of the splendid surrounding landscape.
The aim of the architects and owners is; was to try to keep the original stone core by showing it as a sculpture inside the house and making the extension through new transparent volumes so that the landscape became part of the architecture.
The new transparent volume & egrave; formed by a double-height space that houses the living area and the kitchen and & egrave; was made with the Reynaers aluminum curtain wall system CW 50 with integrated openings: the large sliding doors were created by the partner Reynaers Arese Serramenti using the Reynaers system CP 155 , while for doors and windows with retractable sash & egrave; was chosen CS 77.
