East Island Versailles
Proud of the ecological management of its parks and gardens, Versailles today wants to embody the green city of the 21st century. As part of the urban redevelopment of the Versailles-Chantiers district, the architect Christian de Portzamparc has delivered, opposite the station, an "island" with a green heart. The facades "in a Versailles architectural language" call on the know-how of the company Reynaers Aluminium. Story of an urban adventure.
Thus, the base of the Unibail building, largely glazed on the ground floor, is surmounted by a "perforated tape, intermediate body on 2 levels" to use the architect's words, which is aligned with the level of the cornice. top of the Versailles-Chantiers station. Finally, a glazed attic punctuated by a series of sunshades topped with over-roof marks the contour of the sky… The Reynaers Aluminum profiles have adapted to this “Versailles-style” facades mode nature while retaining finesse and uniformity of the aluminum masses visible on all the different facades by the architect's wishes.
Nearly 6,750 m² of curtain walls using the CW 50 range, and 1,850 m² of TS68-HV concealed opening windows, were installed on a particularly large site for the Seralu company, confirms Jean-Charles Pineau, responsible for price studies. While the two types CW 50 and TS 68-HV are in the majority, the CW 86 system equips nearly 480 m² of curtain walls, the CD 68 around thirty doors and the CD 50 for around ten.
On this site, Jean-Charles Pineau underlines "the synthesis with the other trades was important. The adaptation to the different facade coverings, between cladding, terracotta, and composite panels, required the creation by our long-standing partner Reynaers Aluminum of 4 specific profiles from the TS 68-HV range (1 frame, 1 intermediate upright, 1 glazing bead, and an intermediate cross member). Challenge succeeded in every way, including that of the planning… ”.
